Saturday, November 12th
St. Charles of Brazil Parish, in coordination with the Stop Hunger
Now organization, is sponsoring a meal packaging event on Saturday,
November 12th, 2011 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the
Arbutus Recreation Center on Sulphur Spring Rd.
This will be an amazing event, during which we will package
10,000 meals in 2 hours! These meals will be provided
to a third world population in need. In order to accomplish this
amazing feat, we need 40 volunteers to work a finely-tuned assembly
line. Stop Hunger Now provides all of the equipment and the
quick training necessary.
Will you consider helping us accomplish this goal to provide 10,000
meals to those in need? There are a couple way to help us.
1)
We need 40 volunteers, can you commit two-hours on November
12, to help us assemble the food packages? Teens are also welcome to
volunteer! What a great way to earn community service hours!!!
2)
We need to raise $2,500 (that’s 25 cents per meal), can you save
your quarters to help us reach our goal of 10,000 quarters to
prepare 10,000 meals? Any monetary donations are welcome. We need
all donations by November 1st, 2011. Checks can be made out to St.
Charles of Brazil Parish and can be mailed to Patti Ernst, 427
Sudbury Road, Linthicum, MD 21090.
